Build and count a bio line

The counter includes visible text and timestamp syntax. Preview the saved profile in your own Discord client before relying on it.

Start with the 190-character limit

Discord’s current Custom Profiles guide gives the About Me field a 190-character limit. The count includes emojis, Markdown text, and links profile guide.

A timestamp code is short—usually about 16 to 18 characters—so the code leaves room for a label and one clear call to action.

Use a line that still makes sense as raw text

Profile rendering can change by client and product update. Write the surrounding text so it remains useful if a client shows the code instead of a rendered time.

Usually online after <t:1785456000:t>
Launch: <t:1785456000:F>
Back <t:1785456000:R>

Practical timestamp guides also document the bio use case HammerTime. Test the result in your own profile card on desktop and mobile.

A timestamp represents a fixed instant

A code such as <t:1785456000:t> always points to one instant. It does not mean “8 PM every day.” For a repeating availability window, plain text such as “Usually online 18:00–21:00 UTC” stays accurate. Use a timestamp for a launch, return date, deadline, or one scheduled session.

Profile checklist

  • Keep the line under 190 characters.
  • Choose t for a time, d for a date, or R for a countdown.
  • Save the profile and inspect it on both desktop and mobile.
  • Keep a plain-language label beside the code.

Bottom line

Use a timestamp for one fixed moment, keep the bio line readable as raw text, and verify the saved profile on the clients your community uses.
